I've been photographing all kinds of odds and ends today. So far I've checked "#3. Finish my felt hat and embellish it", and "#12. Make Earrings......" off of my list. I haven't listed anything on Etsy yet, but I did venture to make two pairs of ribbon earrings the other day, while my cousin was visiting. My sisters and cousin sat around coloring, while I fussed with some projects. These turned out cute, but I still have to get the hang of making the eyelets look good on the backside. :-/ The teal polka dot and brown checked ribbons are two of my very favorites from a large stash that I've been building. I only had a couple of scraps left and wanted to make something special with them. Although not perfect, I still love wearing these.

Next up is the felt hat. My mom has made many of these in a doll size, but I've never ventured to make one exactly like hers until now. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, and I was able to use one of my all-time favorite fabrics for the lining and decorative flower. The first time I used the two cottons together was on a doll outfit which I sold on my website. They looked so fabulous and vintage, that I just had to use them again on something. I think they compliment the teal/green felt really well. The vintage buttons that I used for the centers of the flowers are from Etsy's ElizabethWrenVintage. She has some great stuff in her shoppe, so make sure to drop by sometime.
